TIPS

The Texas Interactive Power Simulator (TIPS) was my first major research project as a graduate student at UT Austin.

TIPS calculates the economic and environmental impacts of changes you make to generation mix in Texas.  This tool is used in the classroom at UT for 3 courses (2 undergraduate, 1 graduate/undergraduate mixed course). Originally published in November of 2008, it has been used thousands of times by folks who want to learn more about energy and the environment.

A new version of TIPS will be published in Summer 2010. Stay tuned for the newest website featuring improved interactivity and resources!
